To the Residents of Davis County,
As a resident of Davis County for nearly 20 years, I care deeply about the safety and integrity of our community. That is why I am writing to express my full support for Aaron Perry as our next Sheriff.
I worked closely with Aaron for several years while I was a Director at the Arbinger Institute and he was the Chief Deputy at the Weber County Sheriff’s Office. I want to be clear that I am no longer with Arbinger, and Aaron is no longer with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office - we do not have a professional connection. My only interest is seeing a good person and a highly qualified leader in this vital role.
During my career at Arbinger, I worked with public safety officers and command staff across the United States and Canada. While I have deep respect for the many leaders I encountered, Aaron Perry uniquely distinguished himself. He possesses a rare, masterful balance of command and compassion for his fellow officers and citizens.
I watched Aaron lead the effort to train his office in “The Outward Mindset,” advocating for a culture where deputies more effectively see the humanity within their own organization and among the residents they serve. His persistence was remarkable. At one point, he set his sights on obtaining significant federal funding for his department. To be honest, I didn't think he would actually pull it off. But Aaron navigated those bureaucratic barriers with such skill that he secured the funding against the odds. In fact, he was so effective that Arbinger eventually offered him a consulting role to help us secure funding for other public safety training efforts across the country.
Aaron is a leader who can influence in all directions - upwards, laterally, and downwards. As Chief Deputy, he played a key role in shaping the direction of his department, reflecting the universal respect of those who reported to him. He didn’t just rely on his rank; he led through enthusiasm and genuine influence.
As a father and a neighbor here in Davis County, I want my family to be protected and served by the values Aaron Perry brings to the table. He has the experience, the grit, and the character to lead the Sheriff’s Office with distinction.
Sincerely,
Dan Dellenbach
