To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to express my support for Aaron Perry in his candidacy for Davis County Sheriff.
I worked directly with Aaron for several years during his service at the Weber County
Sheriff’s Office, and I have had the opportunity to observe his judgment, professionalism,
and approach to public service up close. This letter is offered in my personal capacity and
not on behalf of Weber County or any other employer or agency.
During the years I worked with Aaron, he consistently impressed me as the kind of leader
who takes the time to get things right. He is intelligent and curious, and he approaches
complex issues with a calm and respectful demeanor. When Aaron is involved in a
decision, he wants it done the correct way, not merely the convenient way, and he is willing
to do the extra work necessary to get the right result.
Aaron’s breadth of experience is a significant asset for any sheriff. Over the course of his
leadership at the Sheriff’s Office, he moved through major areas of operation (jail
operations, law enforcement, and administration). That kind of experience matters
because the sheriff’s role requires someone who understands the day-to-day realities
faced by deputies and corrections staff, can manage budgets and policy, and can make
sound decisions that protect public safety while maintaining public trust. Aaron has
demonstrated those abilities in real world leadership positions.
For these reasons, I believe Aaron Perry would serve Davis County with integrity,
competence, and professionalism as Sheriff. I am pleased to offer my endorsement and
support, and I would be glad to discuss my experience working with him if that would be
helpful.
Sincerely,
Bryan R. Baron
